Step out of the shadows of the past

Everyone feels sad sometimes. But when that sadness becomes a center point in your life, and it is overwhelming, then you may be adrift in the dark waters of depression.

Where anxiety is often mentally "time traveling" to the future, depression is often in reverse, feeling like we aren't able to escape the riptides of the memories that are unpleasant and keep us trapped in them like bad dreams.

There is light at the end of the tunnel. You have been ok before, you can be again, and this time, it can be even better than before.

What does depression look like?

  • Feeling sad or having a depressed mood

  • Loss of interest or pleasure in activities once enjoyed

  • Changes in appetite — weight loss or gain unrelated to dieting

  • Trouble sleeping or sleeping too much

  • Loss of energy or increased fatigue
